State parks pass price to increase Sept. 1

For the first time since 2011, prices are going up at state parks across the Lone Star State. Here’s what you need to know.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Texas State Parks Pass gives park guests year-round access to all 88 parks in the state. 

The pass also comes with benefits like discounts in park stores and overnight stays. 

But starting Sept. 1, the price for the pass will be rising from $70 to $95. 

Park visitors say they are not happy about it but understand the circumstances.
