TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas — 44-year old Jacob William Kinkade was arrested and charged with false and fraudulent claims Nov. 3.
The Taylor County Sheriff's Office worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to help make this arrest.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Kinkade worked with the United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office (USPO) as a federal contractor.
For the past three years, it was discovered Kinkade had been falsely billing the USPO for counseling services provided by his personal company, Kinkade Family Services (KFS).
Approximately 80% of KFS revenue was earned through USPO.
Investigators first began working on the case in March 2023, and in June, Kinkade officially pleaded guilty to billing the USPO for individual, group and telephonic therapy sessions along with urinalysis collections that never happened.
Kinkade was officially sentenced to 24 months in federal prison as a result of his crimes.
