PRESIDIO, Texas — A puma (mountain lion) wandering through the city streets has prompted the Presidio Police Department to warn residents to take precautions when taking walks, particularly nightly strolls.

The Presidio PD said in a social media post the "lioness" was spotted Tuesday wandering within city limits around Park Boulevard.

Two officers and animal control went to the area and saw the puma hiding in a stretch hallway between an apartment and a wall fence.

The cat ran from them through City streets, crossed US Hwy 67 onto Puerto Rico Street, then ran into the "wild."

Residents should be cautious and watch out for the puma when taking walks, especially at night, because the PPD believes she is "staying in town at night". Anyone who spots her should call 9-1-1.
