OZONA, Texas — (Editor's note: The story has been corrected to reflect the number of people injured. An initial report from dispatch said four people were injured.)
Three construction workers were injured Thursday morning when scaffolding collapsed at the Ozona High School building construction site.
According to a social media post from the high school, no students or teachers were involved in the incident and the site was secured. The post says three workers were injured.
Crockett County Sheriff's Office dispatch said Thursday morning four workers were injured in the collapse. Crockett County Sheriff Antonio Alejandro confirmed Thursday afternoon that one worker was able to jump into a window from the collapsing scaffolding to avoid injury.
One of the injured workers was taken to an Ozona clinic by a patrol vehicle, one was taken to an Ozona hospital by ambulance, one was taken by ambulance to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, another was flown to Shannon. No conditions were immediately available from officials.
Alejandro said the site is now secured, taped off and still under investigation.
