Tour of Lights and Concho Christmas begins

The holiday season is hitting Downtown San Angelo and a Concho Valley Tradition is back for its 31st year.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Tour of Lights, organized by Concho Christmas Celebration and Downtown San Angelo Inc., will feature scenes of the Twelve Days of Christmas, a toy factory, Gingerbread House and more along the Concho River.

One event organizer said she is excited the annual event is back.

“We really want this to be an event that’s joyful for families, for them to go through," Downtown San Angelo Inc.'s Monica Ramos said.

"I know it’s been a family tradition for myself and my family to go through the tour of lights and enjoy it. So, we hope to see this continue for many years to come.”

The chairman of the Concho Christmas Celebration, Lee Pfluger, also agreed and announced that Chick-fil-A will be handing out two gift cards to each car that takes the tour.

"That's a Christmas present that's gonna keep on giving the whole month of December," he said.

Festivities will begin with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:15 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 7, on the corner of Chadbourne Street and Concho Avenue, followed by the Christmas Parade.

The Concho Christmas Celebration will also feature Bike and Kayak Through the Lights, Santa's Santa Fe Christmas, Christmas at Old Fort Concho and more.

The Tour of Lights will be open every evening until Dec. 31 and a voluntary donation of 8 dollars per vehicle is suggested.
