BROWN COUNTY, Texas — A tow truck driver was killed late Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on US Hwy 67/377 at Blanket Creek in Brown County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a preliminary crash report that Lucas Bentley Randall, 43, of Glen Rose, was traveling south on US 67/377 in a 2012 Peterbilt 337 tow truck, just past the Blanket Creek overpass. The truck hydroplaned on the wet road.
Randall overcorrected while skidding toward the median, causing the truck to veer west and overturn on the west side of the road.
The report says Randall was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Bryan Thompson.
