Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, Texas — On Wednesday, San Angelo Police Department Street Crimes Division detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2300 block of Chestnut Street.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Timothy Martinez, 36, and he was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

During the arrest and follow-up investigation, it was determined Martinez was in possession of 1.93 pounds of methamphetamine, 5.4 ounces of marijuana, $1,490 in cash and two handguns.

The drugs and guns were seized pending further investigation, according to an SAPD press release. 

Martinez was booked into the Tom Green County Jail for his outstanding warrant and additional charges are pending.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), City of San Angelo marshals and SAPD’s Patrol Division helped in the investigation.
