Traffic stop leads to seizure of four pounds of MDMA, small amount of suspected cocaine

An investigation led to the traffic stop of Elizabeth Norton, 38, who was arrested when detectives learned she had two outstanding out-of-county arrest warrants.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo Police Department Street Crimes Division detectives initiated an investigation Friday, March 4, that led to a traffic stop of a vehicle on South Taylor Street.

The driver of the vehicle, Elizabeth Norton, 38, and she was arrested when detectives learned she had two outstanding out-of-county warrants.

A search of both Norton’s person and vehicle resulted in approximately four  pounds of MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamineas well as small quantity of suspected cocaine, a release from the SAPD said. 

Norton was ultimately charged with two out-of-county warrants; possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 >1G<4G; and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance Penalty Group 2/2A>=400G (MDMA).

SAPD’s K9 Division, Patrol Division, Anti-Crime Unit and Gang Unit assisted with the investigation.
