TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas — A 75-year-old man driving a truck tractor towing a CPS dump semi-trailer died when he was ejected from the vehicle Monday morning.

Texas DPS says Monty Hale, 75, of Clyde, was traveling north on Farm-to-Market Road 382, about 4.5 miles west of Lawn at about 11:48 a.m. Monday.

Hale failed to navigate a curve and veered off the east side of the road. He overcorrected, lost control of the truck, causing it to roll over toward its passenger side.

DPS says Hale was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the truck when it rolled. He was taken to Hendrick Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead Monday afternoon.
