EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas — Two Abilene residents are dead after a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Interstate 20, about 2.7 miles east of Ranger.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said Brandon Tyler Woods, 18, of Abilene, was driving a car west on the interstate at the 357 mile post and was in the left lane. Woods steered off the left side of the road into the center median. The car hit the median, then vaulted into Russell Creek. DPS said.
The car landed on its front end, partially ejecting passenger Annabelle Neely, 18, of Abilene. Another passenger. Kaiden Nathaniel Newby, 19, of Abilene, was ejected from the car.
Woods and Neely were both pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jon Glenn. Newby was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with incapacitating injuries.
