TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — UPDATE: A passenger in one of the vehicles involved in a Monday morning crash in Tom Green County has died.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety reported Monday evening that Irenia Valdez, 75, of Alvarado, has died from her injuries.
ORIGINAL STORY: A 94-year-old man died in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning on FM 388, 16 miles east of San Angelo.
According to a preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, an SUV, driven by Patricio Valdez of Alvarado, was traveling eastbound on FM 388. A pickup truck, driven by Cecil Book of Miles was traveling southbound on FM 1692.
The report says Valdez disregarded a stop sign at the intersection at FMs 388 and 1692 and went into the intersection, where he was struck on the driver's side.
Valdez died at the scene. His passenger, Irenia Valdez, also of Alvarado, was taken to Shannon Medical Center with incapacitating injures.
Book and his passenger were uninjured in the crash, according to the report.
