The Texas Veterans Land Board is inviting members of the public to attend the funeral of Bob Gilbert Wood at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. Wood served the U.S Marine Corps from 1960 to 1965 and is a recipient of the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal. A VLB representative says not many of these funerals happen at the Abilene cemetery, but when they do happen, it is to show not only the community, but the veteran, that they are not forgotten.
