DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas — The 7th Bomb Wing will conduct exercises at Dyess Air Force Base March 23-24, a release from Dyess said Tuesday.
The exercise will evaluate the base response to an aircraft incident, ensure the readiness of emergency and safety personnel and is to observe interaction with supporting off-base agencies during a crisis.
During the exercise, residents on or near the installation may hear announcements over the “giant voice” system, hear sirens and see emergency response vehicles.
Motorists entering or leaving the installation may experience delays at the gates. Base officials ask visitors and personnel to plan to arrive early for appointments and call in advance to ensure appointments and services are not impacted by the exercise.
“It is necessary for Team Dyess to participate in exercises to ensure we are prepared for any scenario at America’s Lift and Strike Base,” Col Joseph Kramer, 7th BW commander, said in the release.
Any updates to the release will be posted here as they are received.
