SAN ANGELO, Texas — With the 2022-2023 school year comes new faculty and staff members.
San Angelo Independent School District recently released their list of district principals and leaders who will be starting this fall.
New principals:
Crockett Elementary will be welcoming Mrs. Mindy Goodnight, who was employed at St. Luke's Child Development Center for 13 years.
Goodnight will be taking the place of Mr. Clayton Hubbard, who will be working as Glenn Middle School's new principal.
McGill Elementary's newest principal is Mr. Colton Curtis, who was previously involved as an assistant principal for Central High School. He also worked as a coach and a teacher at Lake View High School.
With 11 years of experience, Mrs. Stacy Fischer will be taking over as principal at Holiman Elementary. Fischer was previously employed as assistant principal at the school and she once won an award for "Region 15 Elementary Teacher of the Year."
Ms. Ashley Gould will be the new principal at Bowie Elementary, and she has previous work experience at Lamar Elementary and Lincoln Middle School. She has taught high school math and she has also worked as a head coach/assistant athletic coordinator.
Dana Felts will be shifting from her position as assistant principal to principal at Fannin Elementary. She was also the assistant principal at Bowie Elementary previously.
Mrs. Patricia is going to be Reagan Elementary's newest principal after her time as instructional coach and assistant principal at the school. The previous principal, Mrs. Brandy Tyner, will be the director of special education at Reagan Elementary.
With more than 24 years of experience at Holiman Elementary, Goliad Elementary and Lincoln Middle School, Mrs. Ginger Luther will be continuing her professional career as principal at Bonham Elementary.
The newest principal at Glenn Middle School is Mr. Clayton Hubbard, who has worked as SAISD schools for 15 years. He will be taking the place of Michael Kalnbach, who is the new executive director of Student and Data services.
New administration:
San Angelo native Dr. Farrah Gomez will be the new Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer at San Angelo ISD. She has been honored as "San Angelo 20 under 40" and "Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Region 15 Principal of the Year," and has been working in education for 27 years in various positions, including her most recent job as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Professional Learning for the district.
San Angelo ISD is welcoming Dr. Shelley Huddleston as their new Chief of School Leadership. Huddleston has been involved with ISD for 27 years at numerous different schools, and most recently, she worked as Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.
San Angelo SAISD is welcoming Dr. Jason Skelton as Executive Director of Human Resources. Skelton recently completed his position as Director of Student and Data Services and he has been involved in education for 16 years.
Dr. Raelye Self is the new Executive Director of Teaching and Learning at ISD after previously working in teaching and principal positions. Self was noted as "a 2018 recipient of San Angelo's 20 Under 40 and a 2017 Distinguished Scholar and a 2017 ASU Distinguished Carr School Alumna," according to the SAISD. Self also worked as Angelo State University and the Region Center.
Mr. Michael Kalnbach is the new Executive Director of Student and Data Services after his most recent experience at Glenn Middle School. Kalnbach has worked as an elementary and secondary principal throughout his career.
Mr. Matt Escue will be the Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction while continuing to coach the Central High School Cheer Team. He has previously been a teacher, facilitator and assistant principal.
The new Director of Differentiated Instruction and Special Programs at SAISD is Mrs. Angie Pidgeon, who will be focusing on reading/language arts and emergent bilingual and advanced academics. Before her new position, she worked as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator for Region 15, and she was also a secondary instructor and teacher.
SAISD's Director of Human Resources for this academic year is Mrs. LaTonia Sutton, who previously worked in positions as a teacher, assistant principal at Lincoln and Lonestar Middle School, and ELAR Department Leader.
The 2022-2023 Director of Special Programs will be Mrs. Brandy Tyner, who has worked at Reagan Elementary with a focus on specialized special education services in her varying roles.
Using knowledge from more than 28 years of experience in the field, Mr. Tony Kennedy will be taking over as Director of Maintenance and Facilities in the school district. He has completed various projects related to carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, commercial housekeeping and masonry. He has worked at Bushland ISD and the Federal Correctional Institution in Big Spring and his skills will be useful in this new position.
