TGC Sheriff's deputy arrests San Antonio man transporting marijuana from Colorado to Texas

The man has been charged with felony possession of marijuana.

A San Antonio man traveling through San Angelo was arrested on a felony drug charge after a traffic stop Tuesday.

According to a press release from the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, a TGCSO deputy on patrol conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Hwy 87N. During the traffic stop the deputy requested a San Angelo Police Department K-9 officer to assist him in a free-air search of the vehicle.

The SAPD K-9 had a positive alert on the vehicle and the subsequent search of the vehicle produced in excess of half a pound of marijuana. The marijuana was purchased in Colorado and was being transported to Texas, according to the release.

Quinton Batiste, 29, of San Antonio, was charged with possession of marijuana >4 oz.<=5 lbs., a felony offense. He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
