Two arrested after vehicle pursuit

A lengthy vehicle pursuit led to two arrests last weekend after a man led police officers through a chase on San Angelo's north side Saturday morning.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A lengthy vehicle pursuit led to two arrests last weekend after a man led police officers through a chase on San Angelo's north side Saturday morning.

Edward Crisp, 32, and Ashley Perez, 35, were charged with multiple offenses.

According to an San Angelo Police Department press release, officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Travis Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle. 

After locating the vehicle in the 300 block of East 32nd St, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The Crisp, who was driving, fled from the traffic stop.

The pursuit was called off for safety reasons after Crisp turned onto Sherwood Way "at a high rate of speed without his headlights on," according to the release. 

Crisp was later located by officers near the intersection of Loop 306 and College Hills after his vehicle "experienced some type of mechanical failure." 

Officers took Crisp into custody, and he was charged with evading arrest/detention with a motor vehicle; a parole violation warrant; county warrants; reckless driving and failure to signal intent to turn.

Perez, the passenger, was found to have a county warrant for her arrest, and she was taken into custody along with Crisp. No private or City-owned property was damaged in the pursuit.
