ABILENE, Texas — Although we have had an interesting few weeks of weather from snow to rain to sleet in the Big Country, softball season is underway for Abilene Christian.
Coming off of their weekend opener in the Aggie Classic, the Wildcats are looking forward to this season under first year head coach Abigail Farler.
"It's been great, I have awesome staff...They prepared the girls for this weekend so they knew exactly what we were going into. I think we shook off some nerves after the first game," coach Farler added.
Coach Farler is working hard to build the culture in her first year and she believes the team has bought into what she is doing at ACU.
"They've embraced the change well. The culture has been a huge shift for us, and that's a huge priority for me. Ultimately how they work together as a team is a huge part of why we are going to win ball games this year."
The Wildcats continue their season Thursday against the Baylor Bears in Waco. "We can compete with anyone. It doesn't matter who we are playing we will come with our best game every game. We are excited to go to Baylor and see some good opponents."
Game time is set for 5pm in Waco on Thursday.
