SAN ANGELO, Texas β Angelo State Ram football team dismantled Texas Permian-Basin on Saturday. Eight different players for the Rams scored touchdowns to help ASU win 65-7. The Rams had 510 total yards of offense and accumulated 25 first downs.
The win helped the Rams move up one spot in the Division II national ranking to #21. The regional rankings came out Monday with ASU sitting in the top 5.
Ram senior quarterback Payne Sullins had 327 yards passing with three touchdowns and an interception. Junior wide receiver Keke Chism led the offense with nine receptions for 121 yards while redshirt freshman wide receiver Austin Landry finished with six receptions and 74 yards.
The Rams have not lost at home all season and finish the season on Nov. 16th against Texas A&M Commerce. Finishing the season off at home might be what is needed to turn heads on the national stage.
