SAN ANGELO, Texas — Angelo State University volleyball player Ireland Ferguson was chosen for the Bring It Promotions' (BIP) U23 All-Star team that will compete July 11-21 in Pula, Croatia.

BIP says Ferguson and the 11-woman U23 team "will play in a four-day tournament that features other national select teams from the US, junior national teams, as well as elite club teams from all around the world."

The team's European tour includes stops in Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia, in addition to the Croatia tournament.

"I am beyond excited to have been given this opportunity to broaden my view of the world and grow as a player," Ferguson said in a news release from Angelo State. "I am so appreciative to be able to create such a meaningful memory with my sister Brighton, who is playing on the U19 team."

Ferguson, an incoming junior from Venice, Florida, majoring in health science professions, is one of three Division II players on the roster, along with Wingate's Emily Johnson and Colorado Mesa's Savannah Spitzer.

The team will be led by David Goodchild, head volleyball coach at Durham University in northern England, and Ferguson's high school coach, Brian Wheatley, the current AVCA National Coach of the Year.
