SAN ANGELO, Texas — Cheyenne Floyd, Angelo State University softball junior pitcher, has been named the D2CCA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year.
She also earned first-team all-region honors.
An interdisciplinary studies student from Liberty Hill, Floyd went 20-10 in the circle with a 1.89 ERA. She struck out 167 batters in 163 innings and held opponents to a .207 batting average. She has thrown 10 of the Rambelles' 12 complete games this season and recorded two shutouts and a save.
The junior right-hander was also named Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Year, All-LSC First Team, LSC All-Tournament Team, LSC All-Academic Team and was an NFCA First Team All-Region selection last week.
Floyd and the rest of the first-teamers will move onto the All-American ballot.
