PARIS, France — Two-time Olympian Jasmine Moore from Grand Prairie, Texas, put on a show during the Women's Triple Jump Final in Paris on Saturday.
The 23-year-old recently made history by becoming the first U.S. woman to qualify for both the Triple and Long Jump events in the Olympics.
With this history came some pressure, but Moore didn't disappoint as she earned a bronze medal in her six attempts during the event. The 14.67-meter jump on her second attempt was enough to get her in the third spot on the podium.
In front of the bronze medalist was Jamaica's Shanieka Ricketts, who was in the silver medal position, and Dominica's Thea LaFond, who took home gold with the best jump of 15.02 meters.
This is Moore's first-ever Olympic medal as she finished in twenty-third place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Next up, Moore will compete in the Women's Long Jump Qualification round on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
