SAN ANGELO, Texas — As of 10 a.m. Thursday, roads were beginning to worsen across West Texas as freezing rain and sleet fall across a good portion of the area. The worst road conditions are across our western communities.
Through the late morning and early afternoon, freezing rain and sleet are expected to continue across our central communities, including both Abilene and San Angelo. Snow will continue across our western areas.
By the mid-afternoon hours, ice will transition to snow for most of the Concho Valley and the Big Country. The sooner it does so, the more snow accumulation is expected. The later it does so, the less accumulation is expected.
Snow will be coming to an end and moving to the northeast late this evening, shortly before we ring in 2021.
Snowfall totals will be greatest to the southwest, with less accumulation likely the further east.
