Father's Day/Juneteenth weekend forecast

The hot and dry trend continues throughout West Texas.

TEXAS, USA — Triple digit heat and sunny skies has been the main weather pattern recently, and this weekend won't be any different. Upper-level ridging remains the prominent feature driving weather conditions. This weekend, it will focus directly on the central/south central portion of the country.

At the surface, south-southeasterly winds will help usher in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. This will fuel isolated rain chances, predominately between Abilene and Dallas/Fort Worth.

Otherwise, high temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 90s under sunny skies.

On Sunday, triple-digit temperatures will return remain in place through the start of next week.
