TEXAS, USA — Triple digit heat and sunny skies has been the main weather pattern recently, and this weekend won't be any different. Upper-level ridging remains the prominent feature driving weather conditions. This weekend, it will focus directly on the central/south central portion of the country.
At the surface, south-southeasterly winds will help usher in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. This will fuel isolated rain chances, predominately between Abilene and Dallas/Fort Worth.
Otherwise, high temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 90s under sunny skies.
On Sunday, triple-digit temperatures will return remain in place through the start of next week.
As you celebrate this holiday weekend, be sure to stay hydrated and keep sunscreen on hand. It's also important to know the symptoms of different heat-related illnesses (and how to treat them) because it could save a life.
