SAN ANGELO, Texas — With temperatures struggling to reach the 50s Saturday, the weekend was cloudy and cool across West Texas. Sunday saw temperatures back near 70 degrees, but that sun remained hidden.
As we start another week, the usually bright West Texas sun remains unseen. Temperatures will climb to near average Monday with overcast skies. A few isolated sprinkles are possible throughout the area, but much of the day will be dry.
If you miss that sunshine, there is a slight glimmer of hope in the forecast. The sun is forecast to make a brief return Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures climb well above average. However, partly cloudy to mostly cloudy conditions will still dominate.
Temperatures will climb to the middle to upper 80s Tuesday, and a few locations may hit 90 degrees come Wednesday afternoon.
A cold front is set to move through the area Thursday morning, with isolated showers developing along the front. Rain chances will tick up slightly for the end of the week.
Cooler air moves in behind the front with temperatures Thursday ranging from the 50s to the 70s throughout the area. Highs stay slightly below average through the coming weekend.
