TEXAS, USA — If you are ready for the sunshine, you'll love this weekend weather forecast and start singing "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles.
This past week, we've seen quite a bit of dreary weather. All the active weather was thanks to a rain maker that was stationary over New Mexico. Until the rain maker moved east of Texas Thursday morning, we just saw continual clouds and rain. After a small break, a cold front coming Friday is bringing another chance of rain to start the weekend off.
Showers are expected through Friday night really as a cold front arrives. Most of the radar activity will be in the Big Country, but we're also monitoring the chance for some imbedded thunderstorms with gusty winds and small hail. For any Friday evening plans you will definitely want to keep an eye on the radar.
The image above shows about when the front will arrive in our area. I'm not expecting widespread severe weather, but a couple thunderstorms could be on the strong side. Behind the front, you'll notice cooler temperatures with winds out of the north.
After our cold front moves through early Saturday morning, the rest of the weekend should be beautiful. Saturday will have northerly winds and highs in the 50s, and Sunday afternoon we'll start to see southerly winds and highs in the 60s. Sunday morning we could see some freezing temperatures, but I'm not anticipating a hard freeze or anything similar to what we saw a couple weeks ago.
Overall, though, we look to have below normal temperatures across the area this weekend. If you prefer warmer weather you are in luck because I have a warming trend in my forecast. After all the cold weather and rain I think we have certainly earned some warmth and sunshine around West Central Texas.
