TEXAS, USA — The Texas Department of Transportation San Angelo issued an update on road conditions Sunday morning.

According to a TxDOT Facebook post, conditions overnight worsened across the State. Snow is affecting the northern parts of Texas while freezing rain and sleet is affecting the rest of the State.

The Interstate Highway 10 corridor between Junction and San Antonio remains the epicenter of the storm. Traffic is open but moving very slowly and travel is strongly discouraged, the post said.

TxDOT's 25 districts have crews working 24 hours and the Texas Forest Service continues supporting multiple districts, including San Angelo.

The State Highway System is showing 2,633 roadways that have ice.

Downed power lines, stalled out vehicles, as well as icy conditions, have caused some closures.
