SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Girl Scouts of Central Texas announced Monday it has made the decision to postpone its Women of Distinction celebration, originally planned for March 19, 2020. The event is rescheduled for Aug. 27.
"Girl Scouts of Central Texas is committed to the health and safety of our girls, their families, our volunteers, staff, and donors. Based on the latest guidance related to the spread of COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and our local officials, the Girl Scouts of Central Texas has implemented several measures to limit social contact among our members, our staff, and the public. We will share more details regarding our re-scheduled event in the coming weeks. We look forward to celebrating our honorees, whose professional accomplishments and community contributions inspire girls to become the next generation of leaders," a release from the organization stated.
