Texas Rangers release identity of man killed in Jan. 24 officer-involved shooting

The man who died in a Jan. 24 law enforcement-involved shooting has been identified by the Texas Rangers.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the name of the man killed in the law enforcement-involved shooting the evening of Jan. 24, on behalf of the Texas Rangers.

The statement reads as follows:

"While continuing to investigate the officer involved shooting which took place on the evening of January 24, 2020, the Texas Rangers have released the following information:

Scott Joseph Weber Jr., 27 YOA, of San Angelo, TX was identified as the individual who sustained fatal injuries during the incident.

This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional information is available at this time."
