All Tom Green County parks closed, beginning July 2

Beginning July 2, all Tom Green County parks will be closed, by order of the local health authority.

TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — Local health authority Dr. James Vretis has ordered the closure of all Tom Green County parks and prohibiting all activities in them beginning July 2, according to a press release from the City of San Angelo.

These areas include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Foster Park, 10550 S. F.M. 2335, Tom Green County
  • Pugh Park RR 2084, Christoval, Texas
  • Mineral Wells Crossing, located on Mineral wells road, just north of Christoval at the South Concho River
  • Causeway and/or low water crossing at Loop 110 in Christoval, Texas

The closure of these areas will continue through 8 a.m. July 13.

An exception to the order is the Christoval Volunteer Fire Department's annual Fun Run at Pugh Park from 7 a.m. - 11: 30 a.m. July 4, according to the release.

This order was put in place to prevent congregating and to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Tom Green County, the release said.
