UPDATE: 15-year-old JJC escapees caught, 17-year-old still at-large

15-year-olds, Julian Tyce Martinez and Trevon James Damor Wyatt, were captured Tuesday afternoon in northeast San Angelo. T'Jon Walker, 17, is still on the run.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — UPDATE (4:45 p.m. Jan. 9): The two 15-year-olds who escaped from the Juvenile Justice Center with a 17-year-old Monday night have been caught, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday afternoon.

Julian Tyce Martinez and Trevon James Damor Wyatt were found and arrested a a short foot chase in northeast San Angelo. 

A third escapee, T'Jon "TJ" Walker, 17, is still at-large.

Walker is described as 5'8" and 144 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He was detained at the JJC for deadly conduct - discharge of a firearm and theft of a firearm. For the assault and escape, Walker has been charged with assault on a public servant, a third-degree felony. He has an outstanding arrest warrant.

UPDATE (2:31 p.m. Jan. 9): More details about the three escapees from the Tom Green County Juvenile Justice Center was released Tuesday afternoon as the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office continues its search for them.

T'Jon "TJ" Walker, 17, and Julian Tyce Martinez and Trevon James Damor Wyatt, both 15, escaped from the JJC after "violently assaulting a Juvenile Supervision Officer" the TGCSO said in a release. 

Directives for apprehension have been issued for all three, who were each last seen wearing orange pants and white t-shirts.

  • Walker is described as 5'8" and 144 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He was detained at the JJC for deadly conduct - discharge of a firearm and theft of a firearm. For the assault and escape, Walker has been charged with assault on a public servant, a third-degree felony. He has an outstanding arrest warrant.
  • Martinez is described as 6'0" and 160 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He was detained at the JJC for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and he has a history of assault.
  • Wyatt is described as 5'7", and 142 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He was detained at the JJC for tampering with evidence.

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the San Angelo Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers and the Office of Inspector General for the Texas Department of Juvenile Justice.

This is still an active investigation and search for the fugitives.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the TGCSO's Criminal Investigation Division at 325-655-8111.

Because Walker, Martinez and Wyatt engaged in violence to facilitate their escape, the sheriff's office says the public is advised to not approach them and to immediately contact law enforcement if they are encountered.

ORIGINAL STORY (Jan. 8): Three people assaulted an officer Monday evening, then escaped from the Tom Green County Juvenile Justice Center.

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is looking for Tjon Walker, 17, and two 15-year-old males, according to the San Angelo Police Department. The SAPD is assisting with the search.

 Walker, who is Black with black hair and brown eyes, is approximately 5'8" and 144 lbs. 

A 15-year-old Hispanic male escaped with Walker. He is described as being around 160 lbs. and 5'10" with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and orange pants. 

A 15-year-old Black male also escaped. He is described as being around 142 lbs. and 5'5" with black hair and black eyes. He was also last seen wearing a white t-shirt and orange pants. 

Earlier Monday evening, the SAPD alerted San Angelo residents of an incident at the Juvenile Justice Center and advised anyone living in the area to stay inside and lock their doors and windows. 

Streets in the area of West 19th Street to Lillie Street and beyond were blocked by law enforcement vehicles while officers searched the area for Walker and the two teenagers.

Anyone traveling in the area should be on the lookout for the three escapees and report any suspicious activity to the San Angelo Police Department.

No information was given about the condition of the Tom Green County juvenile supervision officer who was assaulted.
